Since 2023, X23 – The Innovation Bakery – an independent and multidisciplinary research center that fosters innovative and groundbreaking projects – is one of the stakeholders of our Master’s Degre. As part of this collaboration, X23 is offering our students a masterclass on the use of Nooj software. Nooj is a specialist software for lexico-grammatical, syntactic and semantic analysis of any kind of linguistic or literary text.

Developed by Max Silberztein (Université de Franche-Comte), Nooj can be downloaded for free here.

In this three-day Masterclass, Professors Max Silberztein and Mario Monteleone - from Università di Salerno - will dive deep into the linguistic realm and present the science behind the NooJ linguistic software, with an open invitation extended to participants from diverse fields such as Linguistics, Digital Humanities, Social Sciences just to mention a few (no specific linguistic expertise is required). The morning sessions will cover theoretical aspects, while the afternoon will be dedicated to practical applications and hands-on activities.

The goals of the Masterclass:

• Introducing the NooJ software and tutorial on the basic skills
• Exploring the application of Nooj to a wider range of disciplines
• Designing some innovative ideas of its application and consolidating them as a base for a research abstract, presentation…or even a published paper.

Students should bring their own laptops.
