Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing academic, educational and professional systems profoundly, and reference to the possibilities that allow artificial intelligence to progress in all areas, including Discourse Analysis, is extremely relevant. This two-day symposium aims to observe how AI and information technologies are redefining the manner in which academic activities, such as researching, training and teaching, are conducted, by discussing some case studies in the field and critically observing the impact of AI and modern technologies on Discourse Analysis (what challenges and what potentialities).
This symposium aims to provide a forum for discussion of the potentialities and risks of AI applied to academic contexts, from a Digital Humanities perspective and in the light of Discourse Analysis. It aims to create opportunities for an integration of the work of linguists, computer scientists, scholars and educators, and to provide an interdisciplinary platform to present the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns, as well as key solutions already adopted in their professional areas. A particular focus will be on arts and culture, and more precisely on the connections among artists, the challenges of AI and the issue of Human Capital. These insights will converge in a truly multidisciplinary effort to devise and build advanced networks of knowledge to facilitate the interpretation of data in the field.
